Notorious Coffee
Notorious Coffee is a small-batch artisan coffee roastery located in Madison County, North Carolina, just outside Asheville.
Founded by Jeff Lowe, Notorious Coffee built its reputation on carefully roasted beans and a dedication to bringing out the best flavors from coffees around the world. In 2025, the roastery entered a new chapter when Heidi and Alex took over the business, continuing the tradition of quality roasting while expanding the vision for the future.
Every coffee we offer is roasted with intention. Different origins reveal their best qualities at different roast levels, and we carefully develop each roast profile to highlight the natural character of the bean.
As part of this new chapter, we also simplified our coffee lineup. Instead of offering dozens of rotating coffees, we now focus on a smaller selection that we roast exceptionally well and keep consistently available. This allows us to concentrate on quality, freshness, and dependable favorites for our customers.
From bright and complex single-origin coffees to rich and balanced blends, every batch is roasted in small quantities to ensure freshness and consistency.
We source our green coffee through trusted, sustainability-focused importers who prioritize responsible sourcing and high-quality beans. Each coffee represents not only its place of origin, but the farmers and communities who cultivate it.
